How the AI is changing the security industry

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is having a significant impact on the security industry all around the world and particularly in Latin America, improving the efficiency and effectiveness of security solutions.

Here are some specific examples of how AI is transforming this competitive industry in the region:

1. Intelligent Surveillance to Detect REAL Threats
Based on smart camera systems, AI is used to analyze images and videos from security cameras, automatically identifying suspicious patterns or anomalous behaviors.

The security robots we used to see in futuristic movies already exist in real life, and with some incredible features. In Latin America, there are still no security companies offering them, and their cost remains very high in the United States (for example, the Spot robot costs over $75,000) and the countries of Asia, Europe, and Oceania that market them, currently exclusively for industries.
These robots can patrol extensive areas, even underground, such as coal or copper mines, detect the slightest unwanted infiltration into a property, identify suspicious behaviors, and send alerts to security operators.



As with many technologies, the military industry leads the way in terms of innovation and cutting-edge. A clear example of this is drones: companies like Elbit, Lockheed Martin, or Turkish Aerospace Industries have been secretly working on creating unmanned vehicles for all uses long before (we are talking about several decades) photo drones hit the stores.

For instance, AeroVironment, one of the largest drone suppliers for the U.S. military, produced portable unmanned aerial vehicles for the Navy in the mid-1980s, and recently launched a new line of military drones, the Raven series, capable of flying using computer vision and GPS coordination.

AI can analyze real-time data, such as traffic and local events (just like Waze does to show you the best routes), to adjust the scheduling of security patrols based on changing conditions, thus optimizing resource use.
